The forgotten genius of Phil Hartman

Funny or Die has a little "Ghosts of Christmas Past" clip in which Barack Obama gets a midnight visit from Gerald Ford (Chevy Chase), Jimmy Carter (Dan Akyroyd), Ronald Reagan (Jim Carrey), George H. W. Bush (Dana Carvey), Bill Clinton (Darrell Hammond) and Dubya (Will Ferrell).

Everyone will recognize these as the actors who played these respective presidents regularly on SNL...

The only new addition was Jim Carrey.

Carrey does a decent job. But the clip above is one of the funniest things SNL ever did, and it stars the late Phil Hartman. And there were times when Hartman truly was the funniest person to ever stalk the earth.
