Schlub of the week

This week's winner is David Cromer.

To understand why, read Alex Witchel's article in today's New York Times Magazine.

Cromer was supposed to be the next big thing on Broadway. But his production of Brighton Beach Memoirs closed only a week or two after it opened.

The thing that stood out was this little nugget:

"I’m a terrible homosexual,” Cromer fretted [to Witchel] in advance of our outing. “I should have nice clothes, I should be in better shape, I should cook, I should have a nice apartment. I live like a college student. I always have. It’s a very arrested thing. It’s hard to grow out of that.”

One of us! One of us! One of us!
